It seems like not long ago, we were making great strides on television. Remember, The Cosby Show? I use to love the feeling of Thursday nights. It felt like that was OUR night to shine on TV. Back then, we had a couple of all-Black shows on a major network and then they (the networks) gave everybody a show. Those days were short lived, though.

Yesterday, I went to Popeye’s to get something to eat and it wasn’t crowdwed. I was so excited to finally be able to go in and get out without waiting 15-20 minutes just to order. When I got to the counter, the 16-18 year old young man at the register said, “What the deal?” I thought I misunderstood him so I said,”Excuse me?” (more…)

Why is it that everybody on the block sees the value in cutting their grass except for that one neighbor who happens to live next door to me? I am out there weekly keeping mine cut, trimmed and watered, but my neighbor obviously can’t see it and feels no pressure to cut his.
