McNabb Should Come Home Next Season
First off, he’s from Chicago.
Second, he’s a proven winner.
Third, he plays quaterback and any football fan can agree that the Bears need a new quarterback. The current bums we have playing QB couldn’t start on my Pee-wee team. I had hope when the Bears gave former Florida Gator QB Chris Leak a shot that we were moving in the right direction, but we have played the same amount of downs (Total plays=0). So what QB gives us the best chance to win, NOW? Donovan McNabb.
McNabb was clearly unhappy that the Eagles drafted quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick in last year’s draft and that’s always a sign that your time is up (Note: except for Brett Farve. The Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers back in 2005 and he’s been making like $25 mil backing up Brett who continues to get better and break records and may never retire.)Plus the Eagles fans have turned on Donovan like he’s become best friends with T.O. When the organization stops supporting you and the fans stop showing you love, it’s time to bounce.
But leaving Philly might not be all that bad. It appears that good things can happen for players that have worn out their welcome in a city (i.e. Randy Moss, T.O, Dante Culpepper..oops). Coming home to Chicago would be like welcoming home one of our own. He could run and throw all over Soldier Field like he did in the Prep Bowl in 1993 (see I’m old school)
Donovan McNabb must stay healthy for the last few Eagles’ games, in order to prove he can still play a full season because people, fans and media, doubt his durability. McNabb, who turned 31 this season, and is coming off back to back seasons in which he only played in 9 (in 2005) and 10 games (in 2006) due to injuries and just led his team to victory over the 12-1 Cowboys, may be looking for a job next season. He is one of the better QBs in the NFL when healthy, but he’s better with one leg than either of the QBs the Bears have now.
Now the only question is, will the cheap ass Bears pay the man? That’s when reality sets in. Donovan most likely won’t be a Bear and the cheap ass bears will give the starting job to Kyle Orton and pay him pennies and put Lovie’s job in jeopardy (that’s another issue. In order to succeed, you need the proper tools to compete).
But for a few minutes, it felt good to think that the Bears could have a real QB and a real chance to compete.
