A Moment in Time

What has happened to me? This is supposed to be a vacation.
In the past week, I have been living my life at an accelerated pace that only those who have felt what I’m feeling know what I’m talking about.

This week, I have taken five steps more than my usual count with thoughts of you in my future. My time has been well spent with thoughts of you and I and has turned personal time into our time.

Every love poem ever written was written with the feelings I have for you. Do I understand? No, yet I enjoy the passion and love bestowed up me, so much I am motivate to add my own to the list.

My heart amazes me at how it has defeated insecure thought of you and others and how I have forgotten all about my ‘others.’ But I am also amazed at how strong the heart is and how fragile the feelings are it possess.
GOD’s love has to be incredible to even allow me to taste this emotion and indulge myself in this intangible, indescribable, intoxicating emotional journey that ends tomorrow.

Dealing with the ‘Wii’ Madness

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

nintendowii_console.jpgI can’t believe the madness with the Wii Consoles. Weren’t these things out last year? Why is it so popular this Christmas? I thought I was buying my husband’s gift early when I went to the store to purchase a Wii the first week of November. To my surprise the salesman said they were ‘SOLD OUT.’

I thought, OK, I’ll just come back next week when the new shipment comes in and just pick one up, but to my dismay they were ‘SOLD OUT’ again. I tried calling all around town and no one had a Wii.

So I got up early one Sunday morning and stood in line at the Circuit City at 9:00am (one hour before they opened) and I learned that people were there since 6:00am. They received vouchers so that when the store opened at 10:00am they were able to pick up their Wii’s. This was unreal! I have never chased a product and this will be the last time. No Wii for me this Christmas. I hope I can find one for my husband’s birthday in April.

McNabb Should Come Home Next Season

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

mcnabb.jpg First off, he’s from Chicago.
Second, he’s a proven winner.
Third, he plays quaterback and any football fan can agree that the Bears need a new quarterback. The current bums we have playing QB couldn’t start on my Pee-wee team. I had hope when the Bears gave former Florida Gator QB Chris Leak a shot that we were moving in the right direction, but we have played the same amount of downs (Total plays=0). So what QB gives us the best chance to win, NOW? Donovan McNabb.

McNabb was clearly unhappy that the Eagles drafted quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first pick in last year’s draft and that’s always a sign that (more…)

I AM LEGEND = I AM WHACK!

A friend of mine invited me to a screening of Will Smith’s new movie, “I AM LEGEND“. Of course, I didn’t really know what to expect since the trailer doesn’t tell you much, but as you can tell by my title, I wasn’t impressed. As a matter of fact, I was thoroughly dissapointed.

Although I won’t tell you the movie, I will tell you that if you watch movies like I watch movies, you will find so many flaws in the character that you will find yourself cheering for the ‘dark seekers’. Humans have contracted a man-made virus that has infected almost 98 percent of the world and have become these “animals” that live in the darkness and are most powerful at night. Sound familiar…I thought so. They reminded me of the vampire mutations in Blade II, which believe it or not was a better movie.

This film was like watching Will Smith try and do his best Tom Hanks (from Cast Away) impersonation. He was on screen so much that I can almost tell you how many grey hairs he has in his beard. He did a good acting job, but the story line and character was weak. Hopefully, it will be a success because if not, Hollywood’s not as forgiving as Black people.

Since $10 is hard to come by for a movie these days, I AM LEGEND is a good bootleg and will be even better On Demand, but is at its best when you can watch it from home.

My NCAA Bowl Picks in the BCS Mess

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Okay, now after all the BCS mess, I will go out on a limb and make my NCAA Bowl predictions. I won’t bother with some of the bowls that we don’t know of like the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl between Utah vs. Navy on Dec. 20 ( I guess anyone can have a bowl, huh). I decided to stick with the New Year’s Day and after bowls. The big games.

Now that #1 is clear, the #2 spot is set, but not without some controversy. Both Virginia Tech and Georgia feel like they should have a shot at the National Chanmpionship, but who the hell wants to see VT or Georgia in the big game except for people from VtT or Georgia? That’s what I thought.

Anyway, I love this time of year because it won’t be long before you can turn on the tv and watch a game at anytime. Who cares if it’s the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl? With new tv shows in short supply, I’d take a crappy bowl game over ‘I Love New York’ anyday.

Here are my picks and remember you heard it here first. (more…)
